I think this is a very interesting theme to pursue. I would’ve liked to visit the installation but I presume that it’s over now, (or is it?) I think it’s admirable that you would stay loyal to the church, even though you don’t really go for its teachings anymore… I suppose that we don’t have to agree with people but we still protect their right to have their opinions. Keep going, keep blogging about it, eoin

Your comment about the ‘familiar rejection’ is a fascinating one – it perhaps reflects how much you can become a part of the pattern of someone else’s day even if they don’t take anything from you. Have you a written outline of the whole project – I have a venue in mind to add to your experiment if you were interested but would need to run it past a management group. Anything you have describing what you’re doing would be great!

Are you going to try this somewhere else? I’d love to see how the reactions to you vary from place to place, city to city, country to country depending on how familiar and comfortable people are with something out of the ordinary or with the arts -compared with Belfast public. I still get stones thrown at me because I ride a bike – is that kind of reaction distinctive only of Northern Ireland? Its kind of fascinating; when ‘normal’ reactions from here are taken out of their home context and placed in different environment or country they seem totally bizarre.

I guess doing what you are doing anywhere after Belfast will be like a walk in the park!
